Visit the country’s oldest farmers’ market, Lancaster Central Market, in the heart of Amish country! Regional food specialties include Pennsylvania Dutch sausage, scrapple (a breakfast meat of pork scraps and cornmeal), and headcheese (like scrapple, an acquired taste). You’ll also find preserves, including chowchow (pickled vegetables in a spicy mustard sauce), and bread and butter pickles. The market is also a great place to buy souvenirs – and only a half an hour away from our camp-resort.
Just 23 minutes away, climb aboard the larger-than-life steam train at Strasburg Rail Road and enjoy a 45-minute, round-trip ride through the tranquil Amish countryside to Paradise, PA and back. Marvel at more than 1,000 acres of farm fields as they pass by your window. Disembark and enjoy old-fashioned fun at Groff’s Grove or Leaman Place Grove, convenient recreation areas along the train’s route for mid-way boarding or unloading. Ride aboard the First-Class Cars for an especially memorable experience!
With over 35 rides, attractions, and shows, Dutch Wonderland is a great place to spend time together as a family. Cool off in Duke’s Lagoon water play area and make discoveries at Exploration Island, where dinosaurs come to life! The best part? It’s only 30 minutes away from our camp-resort!
Just a little over 20 minutes away, stop in and say “Hello” the miniature horses at the Amish farm of Henry & Linda Stoltzfus, situated just outside of Strasburg. The Miniature horse barn offers 10 stalls of miniature horses waiting to greet you. Henry has crafted the stalls so that each has a large hole cut in the door. It’s quite a sight to turn the corner and see all these little heads peeking out at you! The design of the stalls offers ample opportunity to pet the horses and have your picture taken with them.
Hersheypark is a popular theme park that features over 60 thrilling rides & attractions, including 11 roller coasters, half a dozen water rides, 24 kiddie rides, live entertainment, fun events, photo opportunities with Hershey’s characters, challenging games, unique shops, and delicious dining. This one hour drive from Jellystone Park™ also includes Hershey’s Chocolate World, offering a total chocolate experience.
Enjoy Camping Near ZooAmerica! ZooAmerica is 11 acres devoted to recreating the natural habitats of five of North America’s regions, including the Florida Everglades, Eastern Woodlands, Sonoran Desert, Great Plains/Rocky Mountains and the Canadian North Woods. View wildlife native to each of these regions and enjoy learning about their preservation for future generations – just an hour away from our camp-resort.
Walk through the nearly 400 acres of beautifully manicured gardens, flowers, and treehouses at Longwood Gardens. Stop by the water fountains for a show! This 40-minute drive from the park will be worth it!
The Theodore A. Parker III Natural Area is 100 acres of lush natural beauty that lies adjacent to the campground. Hike along the pristine Stewart Run stream and enjoy the quiet solitude afforded by the sheer rock walls on either side. Enjoy views of birds, deer, raccoon and opossum abounding among the trout lilies, violets, mayapple, club mosses, ground pine, ferns and lichens. Brown and brook trout fishing is allowed during authorized seasons.
Reading, Berks County, Pennsylvania is a land of historic sites that include covered bridges and Daniel Boone’s homestead. The great outdoors of Hawk Mountain, Blue Marsh Lake, Union Canal and Nolde State Forest beckon you to bike, hike, and ride. Shop till you drop at designer boutiques, specialty shops, antique stores, flea markets and more. Enjoy a thriving arts & entertainment scene and fine dining as well. Only an hour drive from our camp-resort!

If you love the water, Baltimore is your kind of town. Check out the Inner Harbor upscale shops and savor mouth-watering, regional cuisine at Harbor Place. Take a short jaunt in a water taxi to the National Aquarium or the Maryland Science Center. Root! Root! Root! for the home team at an Orioles or Ravens game. Just a few reasons why they call it Charm City – an hour and a half drive away from the park!
