Luckily, our Camp-Resort is located near many unique and must-visit areas. Just 80 minutes away, one can find Philadelphia. And if you only have a day to spend in Philly, it’s sure to be a busy one spent exploring different must-see attractions. Keep reading to find out about some of our family friendly favorites!

INDEPENDENCE HALL

Rich in history, Independence Hall is the birthplace of our nation’s Declaration of Independence and Constitution. Explore the inside of this historic building and learn about how 56 brave men spent the summer of 1776 shaping our country into what it is now. Tickets are free and are available every day of the year besides Christmas. Come learn about our country’s history and be sure to check out Signer’s Hall where they have 56 real-to-life bronze statues of the signers of the Declaration of Independence!

LIBERTY BELL CENTER

Located directly in front of Independence Hall, you can check out the original Liberty Bell displayed in glass along with multiple exhibits. Tickets are free! Take a dive into Philadelphia’s history and learn more about this iconic American symbol of independence!

ONE LIBERTY OBSERVATION DECK

Looking for a view of the city? The best one is at the One Liberty Observation Deck! Climb 57 stories up for a spectacular vista from the top. Soak in the panoramic views and take in the vastness of the city! Be sure to bring some quarters so you can use their binoculars for some added fun!

Learn about our country’s unique history with the United States Mint in Philadelphia – our nation’s first! Take a 45 minute self-guided tour of the Mint for free to see how coins are currently manufactured and learn a little bit about American history on the way!

 

With 42 acres and over 2,000 animals, you could spend all day exploring the Philadelphia Zoo! For a shorter trip, take a two-hour tour of their more popular exhibits like African Plains, Carnivore Kingdom, Monkey Junction, or Bird Valley.

 

Since you’re only spending a day in Philadelphia, we think that these attractions are a good place to start your adventure. See one, or see them all, either way you’re sure to leave with a smile! And the best part is, you’ll be heading back to your favorite Jellystone Park™ to get some much needed rest after a busy day of exploring!
