With so many new people visiting Jellystone Park™ this year, and folks camping for the first time ever, we thought we’d answer some common questions! So if you’re a camping novice or long time Jellystone Park™ enthusiast, we’ve got answers!
Why should I take my family camping rather than buy a day pass?
Staying at Jellystone Park™ Quarryville opens up a whole new set of activities that go beyond what a day at the Water Zone can provide! Join us every week during peak season, or every weekend during non-peak season, for themed events – like Under the Sea, Christmas in July, and Science & Discovery! Plus, day passes are only valid from 11AM – 7PM, which means you won’t be able to enjoy sitting under the stars and chowing down on a delicious s’more on a warm summer night! Once you factor in the cost of a day pass into your nightly rate, you’ll see that camping is the best bang for your buck! Plus, what’s better than having a place to crash like a cabin or campsite after a busy day of fun?
Is the Water Zone included in my stay?
Absolutely! Every guest on your reservation will receive a wristband, which is your ticket to fun throughout the entirety of your stay! Splash the day away at the Water Zone, relax poolside, or take advantage of our hot tubs. Don’t forget to stop by our mini golf course and jumping pillows – these attractions and more are included in your stay as well! You can view all of our attractions here.
What should I take with me?
If you’re staying in one of our cabins, make sure to pack bed sheets and bathroom linens. Or, if you would rather save on the packing space, you can take advantage of our linen rentals! You’ll also get to enjoy your own charcoal grill, so pack up your grilling tools and favorite cookout ingredients! You can also stock-up on groceries and other essentials you may have forgot to pack at the Ranger Station!
Other items to bring:
-Card & board games
-Umbrellas in case it rains
-Bug spray & sunscreen
-Marshmallow roasters & s’more ingredients
Which season is best for camping?
Our most popular time of the year is summer when our Water Zone is open. Spring camping is great for families who want to reconnect with nature and enjoy a quieter, less crowded park! During the fall, we have lots of fun themed weekend plans with activities like trick-or-treating, pumpkin patches, and costume/site decorating contests! Tried and true campers know that there is something truly special about spring and fall camping – plus, you can take advantage of our non-peak deals!
What is there to do in the area?
While we’ve got tons of fun inside our Camp-Resort, there’s also a lot to explore in the area! Learn about the neighboring Amish country, stock up on fresh produce at Lancaster Central Market, or take a hike at Theodore A. Parker III Natural Area. See all of our nearby attractions on our Places to Go page!
